Here we are! Welcome to this special corner of Punta del Este: El Jagüel Park. As you can see around us, it is one of the busiest and most loved public recreational spaces in the area, ideal for enjoying the outdoors. History. To understand the transformation of this place, we must go back to the mid-20th century. In its origins, El Jagüel was strongly linked to local aviation. The historic El Jagüel Aerodrome, inaugurated in the late 1940s, operated in this area for decades. This airport served as the main air entry route to Punta del Este before the development of the Laguna del Sauce International Airport. With urban growth and the growing recreational needs of the community, the property was converted into a public green space managed by the Municipality of Maldonado. During the last decades, the park went through various stages of remodeling until it was consolidated as the theme game park that we see today. Present. Currently, El Jagüel is a renovated and accessible family park that combines green areas, rest areas and modern infrastructure.
