You find yourself in front of one of the most emblematic entrances to Toledo: the San Martín Bridge. Before crossing your first door, stop for a moment and observe the landscape that surrounds you. The Tagus River runs at your feet, which for centuries was part of the city's natural defenses. In front of you, the walls and towers announce the entrance to one of the most important Jewish quarters in the history of Sefarad. This is the perfect place to start our tour. By passing through this portal, we will begin our journey into the past. Little by little we will enter the old Jewish neighborhood, walking through the same streets that generations of Toledo Jews walked more than five hundred years ago. We will advance through narrow and labyrinthine streets, visit its ancient synagogues and discover the traces of a community that played a fundamental role in the history of Toledo.
