Here we are! We arrive at the emblematic Torre Vista Mar building (historically known as El Torreón), an unmistakable landmark on the Punta del Este Peninsula. History. To understand this place you have to go back to the mid-20th century. The original structure was part of the Míguez Casino project and the iconic El Torreón confectionery, a nerve center of Esteña social life. During the 1970s and 1980s, the building was transformed into the residential tower we see today, topped at its summit by this observation deck and revolving restaurant. Its inauguration marked a milestone in the tourist architecture of the region, becoming the first revolving restaurant in South America and positioning Punta del Este at the gastronomic and landscape avant-garde of the time. Present. Today, the place remains one of the busiest viewpoints in the city. Through its panoramic windows, it offers a 360-degree perspective on the meeting of La Mansa and La Brava, the yacht port, Gorriti Island and the urban layout of the Peninsula. The "La Vista" Restaurant functions as a multifunctional space where it is possible to have lunch, tea or dinner while the structure rotates continuously.
