The history of this site is closely linked to the life of Humberto Pittamiglio, a renowned Uruguayan architect, engineer and politician. After purchasing the land in 1910, he began the construction of his residence and kept the works in constant development until the day of his death, in 1966. Keeping the work in permanent construction was not an oversight, but rather a concept of Pittamiglio himself, who considered the unfinished building as a symbolic representation of the journey of life and the alchemical process. After his death, the property went through various periods of conservation and use until it came under the guardianship of the Municipality of Montevideo. Present. Currently, the property houses a cultural center, a museum and gastronomic proposals. In its facilities, plays, artistic exhibitions, workshops and guided tours are organized - both day and night - that allow you to explore its history and value its heritage preservation.
